RECAP: Texans win comfortably in Nashville, 23-14

Not bad for a glorified preseason game.

If you didn’t watch today’s Houston Texans game against the hated Tennessee Titans, I would not blame you one bit. A Texans win or loss would mean nothing to their playoff chances or their seeding. It would mean a lot to the BESFs, but nobody cares about them, not even their own fans. But it’s always good to get a win against them.

But the way they got the win was rather unusual.

It started with the opening drive which capped off with a connection between Stroud and Nico Collins to put the Texans up 7-0. That would be the last time we would see Stroud on the field.

Early in the second quarter, Dameon Pierce would rip a 92-yard touchdown run, which would be good for the longest touchdown run of this season for the entire NFL. The failed PAT (really, Ka’imi?) would put the Texans up 13-0.

The quarter would end with a pair of traded field goals leaving the Texans up 16-3 going into the half.

The third quarter was quiet, save for a sad field goal try by the Traitors to cut the Texans’ lead to 7, 13-6.

The fourth quarter would see the Texans score on the defensive side of the ball as Derek Barnett, who had the game of his life today, would scoop up a fumble and run it back for the touchdown, his second thicc six of the season.

Unfortunately a good thing happened to Tennessee as well as they scored a garbage time touchdown and two point conversion (like a real, grown-up football team!) to put the score at 23-14 and that is how it would end.

If game balls were given out, the offensive ball would have to go to Dameon Pierce for his sick 92-yard touchdown run.

Defensive game ball goes obviously to Derek Barnett on the strength of his thicc six.

The Texans’ regular season is over. Now all there is left is to see who they will play on Saturday at 3:30 pm. CST (not set in stone but I would plan on it).

See y’all in the playoffs!
